This is the Rookery spiral staircase inside, looking up. The Rookery Building on LaSalle Street in Chicago was designed by Daniel Burnham and John Root in the late 1800’s and remodeled in 1907 by Frank Lloyd Wright. Earlier a temporary City Hall was built on this site and the nearby stables attracted pigeons, thus the name, The Rookery.
